    MAPLE  GROVE  IS CHANGING

My name is Mame Samba Fall and I am running for Maple Grove City Council. I live in Maple Grove with my wife and our three children. I am an immigrant from Senegal who came to the United States in 2000. I have a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies from the University of Minnesota and a Professional Certificate in Accounting and Statistics. Yes, I am a person who likes numbers.

I have a passion to serve my community in many ways. I run a business that works in Health and Wellness, I have been Appointed as a Minnesota Department of Human Services Advisory Council, I also run an interpretation and translation services company, as well as, several nonprofits that work on diversity and cultural issues with the Black Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) in Maple Grove and surrounding cities.  I have been Appointed by the Hennepin County Commissioner Kevin Anderson as a Race Equity Advisory Council and I am in the Income Domaine Committee for the Hennepin County employees. My work also includes being  the President of the Senegalese American Chamber in Commerce in Minnesota, as well as the Executive Director of the New American Center P.A.

I decided to run so that I can bring a new factual and well researched leadership to the Maple Grove City Council.  I value honest communication that benefits our community. I believe that with my skills, I can bring a community centered approach to solve many of our city’s issues.

The issue of public safety is in the forefront of this nation. I am a Black man with a Black son who is growing up in Maple Grove. I  understand the fears that can arise during interactions with the police. I also know how policing plays an important part in keeping all of us safe. I will support a balanced approach to increase safety and mutual respect between the police and residents in our community.

Our beautiful parks and activity center are our pride. I have enjoyed the green spaces and various events in all our city amenities. I plan to be a great steward of these resources that we all very much love. Finally, the City of Maple Grove has a potential to grow its tax base with continued economic developments and an increase in efforts to support the development of more minority and female owned businesses.

In the coming weeks and months, you will see more of me as I continue to spread my message of hope and inclusion. With your support in the November election, your voice will be heard in the Maple Grove City Council!
